I wonder if any one knows how to find out why my grandfather, Michael Teclaw, does not show up in the SSDI. He passed away in apx 1959. SS benifits were collected. Greetings Heidi, The SSDI is a great tool, if your looked for information is there. The same goes for the LDS lists, Ancestry.com, Rootsweb and the rest. But, if for some reason your information is not there, then it becomes something useless. I would assume that you can find by sending a letter to either the Social Security Administration or the software people that may or may not give you a satisfactory explanation. I keep hearing that there are going to be updates to the SSDI software files, but to this date, I have not seen any. Maybe someone else out there knows of some. Many of my relatives also are not included on the SSDI records, some are. Again, maybe there is a problem with the way SSDI software people gather the information from the Social Security Administration or maybe the problem is with the Social Security Administration. Only time will tell. Sorry to not be of any help.
