DANIEL VANDEHEY - 1879-1942 Funeral services for Mrs. Daniel Vandehey, 62, Colby (Clark Co., WI), who died Friday evening at St. Vincent's hospital in Green Bay [Brown County, Wisconsin] after suffering a stroke Tuesday at the home of her son Maynard Vandehey in Green Bay, were held on Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic church in Colby, The Rev. J. L. Lang officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.Mrs. Vandehey, the former Julia Laessig, was born in Wausau March 24, 1879, and married Mr. Vandehey in this village June 26, 1900. The couple purchased a farm in the town of Beaver, Clark county, and operated it 39 years before retiring and moving to Colby. Survivors are the widower; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoft of Colby, Sister M. Antilia of Sparta and Mrs. Frank Neibauer of Wisconsin Rapids; four sons, Maynard at home, and Lawrence, Harold and Ralph Vandehey of Los Angeles, Cal,; a sister, Mrs. John Kissinger of Victoria, B. C. Canada; two brothers, Frank and Charles Laessig of this village, and 15 grandchildren.Mrs. Vandehey was a member of the Christian Mothers society of St. Mary's church.[She also had a sister Mary, Mrs. Emil Ruder, Merrill, WI, Augusta, Mrs. Michael B. Wagner, Stratford, WI, brothers Henry (married Agatha Wagner), and Fred (married Olga Polege, Louis. Charles (married Jeanette McDonald) and Frank (married spouse 1: Mary Sawyer; Spouse 2: Mary Weber]
