Sorry for the delay in my reply. I'm not sure if my ancestors are burried in those cemeteries. My great-grandparents were Elva August(Seif) Schwellenbach and William Micheal Schwellenbach of Neillsville,Wisconsin. Elva was born 30 October 1893 to Fred Seif(I believe) and Mary(Minnie) Wiesner. She died September 1987. William(Bill) Schwellenbach was born 2 June 1892 to Joseph Schwellenbach and Theresa Rose (Prock) Schwellenbach. He died November of 1978. If you find any of these names there,I would be happy to give bio's for them. I'm having trouble with my Seif and Wiesner lines. So if you find anything that may give me any clues, please let me know. Thank You!! Nikole nikolerenee@earthlink.net

Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/ClarkObits/11610 Surname: Schroeder, Klocke ------------------------- Clark County: You're right, I still don't know where gr-grandmother Amelia fits in. One of her granddaughters is still alive and lived in that household but doesn't know either. Like she said, years ago nobody thought to ask questions. I'm going to ask her again though with specific names and maybe something will ring a bell. By the way, I think Dennis Lindau's sister was named Shirley. There was an older sister and I think 2 more brothers. I left the area in 1980, but when I lived there my kids were young and we were farming so didn't think about much except getting by day to day.

George Lindau is the brother of my grandfather Albert Lindau. I remember my folks talking about George and Irene when I was a little girl. Albert was the oldest child I think. This doesn't help you with your Schroeder questions, does it? It's always fun to meet people who some common connections though. I'll ask about Amelia the next time I talk to my cousin.

Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/ClarkObits/11608 Surname: Schroeder, Klocke ------------------------- Clark County: I believe Dennis Lindau's parents were George & Irene. The Klockes are buried in Dorchester's South Memorial Cemetery to the south, where many of the oldest stones are. The oldest Klockes there are Friedrich Klocke's parents, Hermann (b 1821 d 1905) & Florentena (b 1823 d 1899). I too had lots of information, bits and pieces here and there, and when I semi-retired I got the software to get everything organized and also a scanner so I could copy the old pictures I have and put them on CDs. My original intention was just to organize what I had but then I started running into websites like these and now don't know how to stop! :-)

I don't remember any of my cousins having polio. Dennis might be the child of one of my grandpa's siblings. Do you know the name of the cemetery Amelia and Friedrich are buried in? My Lindaus are buried in the Dorchester Lutheran Church cemetery; formerly the Peace Cemetery. I recently found another Schroeder cousin, who is the granddaughter of Lena Schroeder, Anna's (my g-grandmother) sister. She may know more about this.

Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/ClarkObits/11592 Surname: Schroeder ------------------------- Clark County: Dear Cindy, I do think we are in the same family. My gr-grandmother Amelia lived 3 miles N of Curtiss on E, which I believe is in Mayville Township. She lived to be 88, and I can remember her as I was 12 when she died. She lived with her son Reinhardt Klocke and then with Reinhardt's daughter Louise (Nelson) and her family. My grandfather Arthur Klocke was her other son and we lived a mile N of them. I only recently started getting together what information I had about my family (finally went to part-time employment). I have some old pictures, including one of Amelia with her granddaughters. Amelia and Friedrich are buried at Dorchester along with his parents. When I get to Wis this summer on vacation I am going to have to do some cemetery searching, among other things. The Lindau name is familiar to me from going to the Lutheran Church in Curtiss. I believe Dennis still lives in Curtiss. His sister, who is near my age, had polio as a child, but for the life of me I can't think of her name offhand. Is this your family?

Schroeder ancestors. My greatgrandmother Anna Schroeder was born in Wauwatosa WI or thereabouts in 1871. The 1885 Wis census shows she and her family were in Mayville Township in Clark Co. Anna married Fred Lindau in 1890. Her father was Joseph Schroeder, b Oct 18 1832 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin Prussia. Maybe Amelia is a cousin to Anna? Anna's siblings were Charles, Emma, William and Lena. I don't know yet if Joseph had any siblings in Wisconsin.
