Hello Listers - Please indulge me as I take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Gena and I am the listowner of WICLARK-L. I have close ties to Clark Co., WI as that is where my maternal side of the family resided for their entire lives, beginning in the mid 1800's. They were all neatly clustered in the Levis, Pine Valley and Washburn townships. Other relatives lived in neighboring counties, while some others still live in the Neillsville and Levis vacinities. This list is all of a week old! Please bear with me as I work to get a collection of people who are also interested in genealogy of Clark County. The more people we can get to subscribe, the broader the knowledge base and the greater the potential for success when we post our queries and questions. I do not live in Clark County nor Wisconsin. I admit to being born and living in Wisconsin as a child... and travelling to Clark County to visit relatives.. but I now reside in Dallas, Texas. I do however, have access to the weekly Clark County Press which is published in Neillsville. I also am the possessor of a box of old obituaries and newsclippings from Clark County which staggers my mind each time I try to do something with them which may help others. Additionally, I am the Archivist for the USGenWeb Project for Clark and Jackson Counties. Be sure to visit their respective websites as more of these obits and other source documents come online.
