My goal would be to do several days of genealogy research while there. What local resources are available for research covering the period from 1880 to 1930? Some specific items I would like to look at if they exist are newspaper archives (obits, wedding announcements, etc.), birth, death and marriage records (especially any not indexed at WI Historical Society), city directories, and anything else from that time period. Family names to be researched include Eck, Lohse/Loose, VanBergan, and Bornefeld/t Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Members of my famiy on both sides were in Charlestown, the Nellessens in Hayton and many members on the other side of the family including Dauns, Steiners, and others. And do your maps include the area of Gravestown, perchance? I think it was kind of a little crossing with some homes, not incorporated but not included in the rest of the plat map either for years I've seen. I'm hoping that it might show the property of Frank Joas and wife Cresentia (her first name spelled different ways.) Thanks so much! You can send to coldcountry11 at yahoo dot com. Thanks for the clarification, I have updated my picture info on George 1. Marguerite might be spelled like I did it (which is how both of them spelled it); it was a very common name in the early 1900s - both my father's and mother's sister had that name. Now, is he on the left or the right - I just want to make sure because I copied it and think I identified it incorrectly. Also, trying to get a picture of Balthasar's brother/cousin (my gut still tells me they were brothers) so I can send it to you. George 2 reminds me of Nic but without facial hair. In the more recent pic, that is George 2 and 3 with your grandmother (George 2's wife), correct? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Jennifer is my cousin. :) George II was our grandfather, George III is her father, and Geoff is my father. I think it's ironic that George I looked to Hubert as a father figure, because George II died when my father was 6, and he looked to George III as a father. Incredibly ironic.
