Author: jpschnable Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.calumet/1045.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Krista, The following are just leads. They would have to be confirmed by other information. My mother grew up in Woodville Township and mentioned the Krueger name several times. A Fred Krueger owned a farm in the vicinity. Look in Section 15 in the northern part of the plat of Woodville Township of 1893 at http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi-bin/WI/WI-idx?type=article&did=WI.MANPLAT1893.I0059&isize=M. The plat of 1920 shows Fred's farm to have been owned by Walter Krueger-probably Fred's son. A Gustave Krueger also owned a farm in the area. You might check out the list of graves in the Forest Home Cemetery at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~calumet/cem1.htm. There are several Kruegers buried there. Among them is Emelia Kruger (1863-1900), who is described a "Husband of Fr. Kruger." Perhaps she was married to Fred before he married Ernestine in 1901; that is, if your Fred and "Fr." were the same guy. Yes, the spelling of the last name is different, too. Such subtle changes in spelling seem to be quite common. Both Krueger and Kruger may have been spelled Krüger in German. Good luck! 2. John Schnable
    3. Greetings, My grandmother was Emma (Knoespel) (Schley) Bloy. I am trying to find out where her childhood home was. Her parents (Karoline and August Knospel), her brother Reinhold, and many other Knoespels are buried in Forest Home Cemetery, so I assume that she grew up nearby. I have looked over the plat book for Calumet County of 1893 that is available on line but cannot find a farm with the family name. Is there an earlier plat book available? Emma was a cheese maker by trade. Thanks for any tips you might have. John S.

    1. [WICALUME] Missing E-mails due to system virus
    2. Joe & Debie
    3. Hi Listers, I have a request for anyone who sent an e-mail and have not heard back from me to have the information re-sent. If you sent me an e-mail or information for the website between the dates of April 4th and May 12, 2008, please re-send the e-mail or information. I was hit by an idiot and had to take my computer in to have 100+ viruses, worms, trojans and spyware removed. In the process they had to dump my hard drive twice and re-install the software. All e-mails and files received during those dates were lost when I had my computer returned to me and was able to download all the backed up mail only to have the system locked up into a loop and they had to once again wipe my hard drive clean and re-install again. Thus causing me to lose everything received between those dates. If you have any questions or are not sure and just want to confirm I received anything, please feel free to e-mail and ask. I would rather have 50 e-mails confirming information than to miss even one question or one submitted piece of information. Thanks for understanding, I am trying to get things set back up again and plan to be adding again before the end of the month, Debie

He sold it for the farm in Section 10. His brother owned a farm in section 15. I would be interested in seeing your map of 1874. 1. Re: [WICALUME] Where to look for description of farm boundaries?
    2. Betty Piepenburg
    3. Hi John! Frederick Bloy was married the 2nd time to Louisa Piepenburg which you probably already know. I have done extensive research on the Piepenburg family as they were my husband's family. I have a little bit of info for you on them. The following is an excerpt from a letter written to Neil Piepenburg on July 21, 1981 from Wil Bloy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Frederick was the owner of a 39 acre farm, inherited from his father, at Neuvorwerk, Keis Silesia, Prussia. He served in the Seven Weeks War with Austria. In 1866 he received a medal from bravery from this war from the Battle of Koenigratz. The medal is dated July 5, 1866. He also served in the Franco-Prussian War from 1870-1871. In 1861 he married Mrs. Carolina Schultz (could also be spelled Schulz). She apparently had one child from a previous marriage - Pauline. They had eight children - all born in Germany. Julius, Norbert, Berthold, Hermann, Ernestine, Anna and Gustav and Reinhold. Reinhold was apparently born just before they left for America or enroute - hence his name is not listed on their papers from germany. Carolina's maiden name was Stocke or Rohde. In May, 1874 he arrived in America and settled in Woodvill Township, Calumet County, Wisconsin. According to information we have, 3 months after arriving here, Carolina died. She died August 29, 1874. On December 28, 1874, he married Louise Piepenburg. She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Henrietta Piepenburg, also of Silesia, Germany. They had three sons - Henry, wifes name was Ida - they had no children. Fred, Wife's name was Alma - they had no children ( he's the one who had the photography studio in Milwaukee near old Concordia Ave. Church). Albert, wife's name was Esther - I hope this helps. I don't know much about Louisa's and Frederick's family. Louisa was the 2nd child of Johann Gottlieb Piepenburg and Henrietta Wilkie. My husband descended from her brother Albert who was his grandfather. Betty P. 3. John, The 1893 plat map of Calumet County shows that Fred Bloy owned a 100 acre parcel - the west 3/4 of the southwest quarter of Section 10, Town of Woodville. A Gottlieb Bloy owned an 80 acre parcel - northeast half of northeast quarter of section 15, Town of Woodville. You can get the grantor-grantee indexes and the corresponding deeds at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay Area Research Center. You can also get the tax rolls at the ARC. The originals of the land records should still be at the Register of Deeds office in Chilton. Kris Kris Beisser Matthies, CG N.E.W. 3. Hi John, If your great grandfather had property larger than 5 or 10 acres, it would show up on a plat map. There is a partial Calumet County plat map/atlas online here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~calumet/18.htm. Take a look and if your section is provided, you may find it. If not, I can check next week at the library I work at. Just let me know what section you're looking for. Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!
