She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church at Brillion. Surviving are two brothers. August, Charles, Manitowoc; one sister. Mrs. Minnie Pierce. Denver. Col.; two stepbrothers. Emil, Oscar Wiegand. Brillion. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the residence and at 2 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran church at Brillion by he Rev. M. F. Sauer. Oshkosh Daily Northwestern page-4, 4-23-1940 JOHN LADDENKLOS DIES HUGE Of 61 John Laudenklos, 1637 Delaware street, died at Mercy hospital Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. He had been confined to the hospital for the last 12 weeks. Mr. Laudenklos was born Aug. 3, 1878, in Calumet county. He married Miss Julia Close at Waupaca. She preceded him in death, passing away in 1916. On Oct 16, 1935, be married Mrs. Bertha Klitzke in this city. He had been in the employ of the Foster-Lothman Company. Survivors are his wife;four daughters and a son, Mrs. Veda Hurlavich of Milwaukee; Frank Heag of Port Edwards; Mrs. Harold Parks of Marshfield; Mrs. Hubert Gustin of Hancock: and Mrs. William Selwitschka of Oshkosh. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren: three stepdaughters and two stepsons, Mrs. Ferdinand Werth and Carl Klitzke, of Oshkosh: Mr. Frank King of Racine; Harold Klitzke of Oshkosh: Mrs. Lloyd Eichler of Racine; his mother. Mrs.Katherine Laudenklos of Oshkosh; three brothers and three sisters,Jacob Laudenklos, Madison; Frank Laudenklos, Oshkosh; Mrs. L. M. Schoen, Seymour. Wis.: Mrs. Henry Flohr. Oshkosh: Mrs. Nick Chesebro. Chilton: and Harvey Laudenklos,Racine. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Marquardt funeral home with the Rev. E. A. Koch, pastor of the First English Lutheran church, officiating. Interment with be at Peace Lutheran cemetery. I too have Wenzels in my lineage but haven't ran across a Michael or Eva from that time period. I also haven't looked at this book - or if I did I don't recall and I didn't find any Wenzels. The only other Wenzels I've ran across was in Fond du Lac - a John Wenzel but I haven't tracked that one down vigorously. My Wenzel in Calumet County was Herman Wenzel. Best of luck. John was born Gerhart Johann Williams June 29, 1821 in Darscheid, Germany. He was the son of MKathis Williams and Catharina Maus. He married Clara Marie Meyer December 20,1848 in Allscheid, Germany. Clara was born July 18, 1829 in Bruchhausen, Germany--the daughter of Michaelis Meyer and Anna Marie Halfmann. They arrived in New York on Sept. 03,1852 and settled in Wisconsin (Sheboygan County). John died Nov. 10,1909 in Kiel, WI (Manitowoc Cty.) and is buried at St.Peter & Paul cemetery in Kiel. Clara died July 20, 1900 in the Town of New Holstein and is buried at St. Peter & Paul cemetery in Kiel. They had 10 children: Gerhardt "John", Katharine, Christina, Joseph (my great grandfather), Johann, Matthias, Elizabeth, Anna, Barbara, and Adam. I have one correction for the information on Charley Larsen, he never married. The 1930's census listing for Charley Larsen was not my great uncle Charley. I have tried to find him in a 1930 census and haven't succeeded. In my family records I have a different date of birth for Anna Williams/Larsen. Her obit say's she was born 28 March 1865 in New Holstein, Wis. I have more information on the families of Nick and Clara Larsen/Johnson. How should I pass that on to you? She was born April 18, 1856, in Town Herman, Sheboygan county, nee Marie Kimme, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Kimme. Her husband preceded her in death in November, 1924. She resided on a beautiful farm since 1902, and the property has since been taken into the northern limits of the city of Chilton. Survivors are two sons, Carl and Oscar at home; a daughter, Mrs. Adolph England (Helen) of Milwaukee; four grandchildren. A son, William passed away in 1895. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pfeiffer Funeral Home, the Rev. E.L. Hennig officiating, and burial will be made in Hillside cemetery.
