I found this through my ancestry.com immigration database. First I looked at the 1900 census, and Christianna and 2 of her sons, August & Fred, and daughter Hulda (Dorn) Diehl all list 1860 as immigration year. Then I went to ancestry.com's Hamburg Passenger List Handwritten Indexes, and looked for Dorn in 1860. This is how I found them. Then I went to the actual Hamburg passenger lists, and found the ship list images. The only problem is that Carl, Christianne, and 2 sons Johann and Albert are listed on page 275 (image 130 of 301) of the ship list, and the rest of the family is supposed to be on page 276. Page 276 seems to be missing. The last residence seems to be Tempelburg?, Pruessen, the same place Emma listed in her obit. I can send you the image of the passenger list if you need it, or if you have access to it yourself.... Those surviving are her husband, four children, Clarence, Arthur, Emma, and Edna Feltenberger, her mother, Mrs. Clara Babbits of Menasha, three brothers, Charles, Herman and Albert Babbits, all of this city; and three sisters, Mrs. H. S. Sherman of Chicago, Mrs. John Brauer of Florida, and Mrs. Lyman R. Jackson of Menasha. Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clcock, Rev. Mr. Dorn was born in Germany, Dec. 3, 1847, and came to this country with his parents when he was 14 years of age. They settled at Stockbridge, later moving to Oconto Falls. In 1926 he moved to the village of Gillett, where he resided until the time of his death. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. William Schuster of Oshkosh, Mrs. John Pratsch of Oshkosh, Miss Mae Dorn of Oshkosh and Mrs. Al Kitchenmaster of Gillett, and seven sons, Charles Dorn of Neenah, Albert Dorn of Tacoma, Wash., Herman Dorn of New Richmond, Arthur Dorn and Louis Dorn, both of Gillett, Herbert Dorn of Oshkosh and Theodore Dorn of Sheboygan. He is also survived by one brother, Gustave Dorn of Stockbridge; one sister, Mrs. Emma Babbitz of Menasha, and several nieces and nephews. The remains were brought to Oshkosh Tuesday evening and were taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. William Schuster of 284 Otter street. Funeral services will be held at the home of the daughter at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. George M Weng will officiate. I found some info. Alexander Babbitz married Emma Dorn 21 Sep 1872 in Stockbridge, Calumet County, Wisconsin. Alexander's parents were Daniel and Rosena (nee?) Babbitz. Emma's parents were Charles and Christina (nee?) Dorn. According to Emma's obit, she was born Sept. 16, 1852, in Templeburg, Germany. The 1870 census for Stockbridge, Calumet County, shows Emma with her parents, Charles & Christina, and her siblings Frederick, Albert, August, Huldah, Eliza, Hermon, Gustave, and Flora (indexed as and looks like Dorm). Christina's maiden name may be something like Keva..., or Qriast, by looking at the info from the marriage records of who seem to be brothers of Emma. Mainly Albert and Fredrick. Another brother of Emma, named Gustave, seems to have married Margaret/Maggie Nicolai, the widow of Gustave's brother Albert. Here is the info I found so far. Hope this helps. They have birth and death dates for John's parents, as well as 4 or 5 more generations for John's parents. They have John's 1st wife as Lydia Henderson, 2nd wife as Phebe Ann Brewster. They have all of the children listed under 1st wife Lydia, then below that, they have the childen separated with 4 children for Lydia, and 7 children for Phebe. I didn't look to see where there sources came from, if they have any, but you should be able to contact the person who put the tree online. John and Phebe have a number of children and move to Ontario Canada, then perhaps to new york then to settle in Stockbridge Wis. there is a small obituary for John's death. I have found later records of one of there children Ellen Brewster who marries and stays in the area. There is an obituary for Ellen. It states she was a prominent women and well know in the area and survived by a large family. there must be more than this if she was well know and had a large family. George and Eliza married in Stockbridge, Calumet County, WI in 1863. There's a Robert Jackson (and family) in Stockbridge on the 1860 census, but so far, I've not been able to dispell or confirm any relationship between the two Jackson families. Having such a common name is proving very difficult. I'm hoping someone either can link in to my tree or has some evidence to eliminate or proove that Robert and George were... well... cousins is my guess. I don't know where Nancy passed, but the date was 8 Nov 1889 according to another family decendant. I am attempting to ID Jesse's parents back in Collins / North Collins, NY. Two families Job Sherman 1793-1866 & Meribah Russell and John Sherman 1798-1886 & Sallie Landon (& 2nd wife Sarah Cowles) are my best canidates. Interestingly both families a decendents of Philip Sherman/Shearman (1610-1687) who immigrated from England in 1633. Do you, or anyone, have information that might resolve this question?
