Hi listers For the new among us: Here is the link for the Barron Co., Genealogical Society, Hosted by Rosemarie Novak, there is an active message board. http://members.aol.com/wisgenweb/barron.html An abbreviated version of the 1870 census for Barron Co., Wisconsin is here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/barron.htm It contains the following: Name, Age, Occupation and Birthplace. This is the first Barron Co. census as the county was formed in 1869 from portions of surrounding counties. I no longer live in Wisconsin, however, I will do look-ups in reference sources I have here at home. They are: 1. History of Barron Co., Wisconsin, 1922 An excellent history of the county, it's cities, towns and villages. Also biographical sketches for more than 1100 of it's early settlers. It is not completely indexed, and contains in excess of 1100 pages, however an index of the biographies can be found here. Also many of those same biographies are posted, at that site. 2. 1903 Plat Book of Barron Co. An unindexed volume. I would like at least a township if possible before requesting a search. 3. The First 50 Years of Rice Lake, Wis., 1875-1925 contains hundreds of names from the earliest issue of the Chronotype. Also a brief history of Knapp, Stout and Co., The lumber giant that had a great influence on the growth of Barron Co., 4. Historical Album, Centennial of Cameron, 1879-1979. Also unindexed. Would the listowner please contact me. Respectfully submitted, Vic Gulickson Regards Vic Gulickson
