Steltzner, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., died there May 21. Funeral services were May 23 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Mesa. Mr. Steltzner was born in Rice Lake Aug. 16, 1908 to August and Cora Steltzner. He married Ann Kruse on March 28, 1933 in Rice lake and was a member of the national Guard from 1925 until entering the military service as a first lieutenant at the beginning of W W II. He served as an infantry officer during W W II, earned the rank of major and remained in the Army Reserve until retiring as a lieutenant colonel. The couple built and operated the Lou Ann Motel in Cumberland from 1950 until selling it in 1957 and moving to Spooner. They also owned and operated the A & W Root Beer business ther until selling it in 1966 and moving to Mesa, where they had recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Mr. Steltzner is survived by his wife, Ann; six sisters, Leona Frommader of Rice Lake, Lorraine Langland of Sarona, Irene Peabody and Eleanor Marabel, both of Seattle, Wash., Viola Olson of Sun Prairie, and Theresa McManus of Elk Mound; and four brothers, Raymond of Forest Lake, Minn., Clarence of Stillwater, Minn., August of Eagan, Minn., and Lawrence of Floriada.
