I've looked through them all, but couldn't find the FOX surname listed. That doesn't mean that he's not buried in Barron Co., it just means he isn't listed in the cemeteries that I do have information for. Here are the cemeteries that I have and have looked through for the Fox surname: Arland - name index only Cedar Lake - online at the Barron Co. All of the information that I have for these cemeteries is from other people walking these cemeteries and donating the information to the Barron Co. WIGenWeb site. They did not acquire information from the sextons, as far as I know. Have you been able to obtain a death record for Chris? If so, does it state on it where he is buried? I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you. -- Take Care, Nance mailto:nsampson@spacestar.net

Everyone is really helpful. I don't have the cemetery records for the Chetek area, but in looking at the pre-1907 Death Index that we have on the Barron Co. WIGenWeb site, I found a Mary A Fox and a Martin F. Fox who both died in 1888. Mary died on 24 Nov 1888 and Martin died on 29 Nov 1888. Here is the URL for the page that I found this information on: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wibarron/deaths/fdeaths.htm These records should be available at the Barron Co. Register of deeds office. If you decide to order them, please be sure to include the full names and date of death, but DO NOT include the Vol./Page or other numbers from this chart, as they pertain to ordering from the State of Wisconsin. It's much faster to order from the County offices. If you are interested in ordering these records, the address for the Register of Deeds office is located on this page: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wibarron/addresses.htm I hope this helps to answer some of your questions. -- Take Care, Nance mailto:nsampson@spacestar.net

I believe the names are right. I know him as William and Bell , but the marriage online for them in Barron County is Amasa Dodge, and Bell Greene, so I figured they used their middle names for some reason. I also need a marriage date for them, and possibly the parents of William Dodge. I hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks in Advance. Tammy
I am new to this list and I am trying to find more about my family that had lived in Chetek Barron WI. My great grandparents Bartholomew and Mary Morris Fox lived in Chetek in the late 1880's. I was told there was a Diptheria epidemic in 1888 that took two of their children late in the year like November, December. Mary Alice Fox who I think was around 12 and her younger brother Francis Martin Fox age 6. Is there any records pertaining to this event? Where was the cemetery in 1888 to try and find records? I think by 1890 the family had moved to Minnesota. Chris Fox foxhunt@gte.net

O. Turtle Lake, owned 40 acres of land in Sections 6 and 8 of Almena Township, Barron Co. His wife was listed as Anna and there were three children living with them at this time, those being Allen, Jolmer and Ruth. Edward and Anna had lived in this county for 5 years as of 1914. I also found it interesting that an Edward Lindberg was listed as a landowner in the 1903 Barron Co. Atlas, owning land in Section 8 of Almena Township. You can view this at http://www.rootsweb.com/~wibarron/census/1903atlasl.htm Perhaps he bought the land and didn't move onto it right away? I'm not sure where you would be able to find a copy of it, but I would think the bigger research facilities, like the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Area Research Centers, which are branches off of the WHS, might have them. Even local historical societies may have a copy of this book, acquired through donations made by area people. As for the biography, this was the only mention of John D. Lent in this book that I could find. I forwarded your message to Wilma, who originally requested the biography lookup. It's good to know that you are already in contact with each other. Hi Tammy, It was so nice to hear from someone in the family. Actually it is my husbands family that I am researching, but that is the Severson, Christianson family. The info that I have so far isMartin was born Martin Syvers in Hadeland, I beleive 1855 or 1860( this difference I can explain to you). I know that their daughter Carrie was married to Elmer Christianson on June 11, 1916. They had 5 children, Kenneth,Glen,Harris, Johnnie, and Inez. Johnnie is my husbands father. Since I have been working on the Christianson side of this mostly for now, unfortunately this is about all I have. Which of the children are you born from. John (my husband ) said he remembers hearing that name before. I know that Gene Severson, before his unfortunate death at Christmas, was doing the geneology for the Severson side. I had intended to contact him for info. We will have to get together and share info. I only live 8 miles from Barron. But I also have odd work hours. Will talk again, have to get off to school. Heidi
