Her name was Sarah M Martin, a/k/a "Matie". Her middle name was most likely Matilda. Ernestena stated on the 1900 census (Big Flats-Adams Co, WI) that she had bore 5 children and that 4 were alive on 29 June 1900. They also stated on that census that they both immigrated in 1892 and had been in the US for 8 years. All 8 of the living children were born in WI. I believe that the deceased child was between the birth of Alma Augusta b 1898, and Awalt Frederick b1900, but there are discrepancies in the children's birthdates. Bennie lied about his DAY of birth. And Martha and Olga's dates are only 7 months apart in the same year 1895. Sarah "Matie", was born 1904 and married John Davidson. They resided in Big Flats Twp as well. They had, at least, 2 sons: Albert J & Freddie. I have been researching this family for a friend, who is Bennie Martin's grandaughter.
