He married Ernstina Lueck in Germany, the daughter of Gustave Lueck. They immigrated to Waupaca County, WI in about 1895 and migrated to Big Flats township, Adams County, WI about 1901 They had 8 children, Martha Martin who married Otto Riese, Olga Martin who married Ole Carlson, Alma Martin who married Otto Smith and after his passing married a Stanley Eggum, Awalt Martin, Bennie Martin who married an Elizabeth Parks, Richard Martin, and an Elsie O.
