That story never made its way to my family. I had wondered what became of them. They were listed in the 1870 census but nowhere in 1880. Now I know why. The Waller brothers were well-known for their woodworking ability. Ole and Andrew Waller were Norwegian bachelor farmers who carved the altar for the Lutheran church in Arkdale. It was in the church at Dellwood for a while, then went to a Methodist church and now is back in Arkdale at Trinity Lutheran. My family has a connection to the Hilleboes - my great-grandmother's first cousin Martin Kleven married Helena Hilleboe. We are also connected through marriage to the Wallers. Have you given any thought to publishing your great-great-grandmother's memoirs? I am sure the Adams County genweb site would find a place for them. Are they English or Norwegian?
