The tomatoes are of an extra early variety developed by Jung, the seed man of Randolph, Wisconsin, and named by him "Way-Ahead." A remarkable feature of the cluster is the fact that all the 13 tomatoes ripened practically at the same time and while they vary somewhat in size they are pretty much alike. The early varieties of tomatoes are never very large, but these are all of respectable size ranging from about one and one-half inches in diameter to more than two and one-half inches. They were all nice, clean skinned tomatoes, with no speck or spot of scab or rot on their surface. Dan told the editor there really were 14 tomatoes in the cluster when first sighted but he thoughtlessly picked one off before he realized that the cluster should be gathered intact that others might see what Adams soil can bring forth. He showed the place where the other tomato had been attached. August WALCZYK made a photograph of the remarkable cluster, a copy of which may be sent to "Believe It or Not" Riply, who should certainly be interested in anything so unusual. Please note that I am not related to these people and am a volunteer for the Adams board. Bob
