Shattering Collision on Hy. 13 In Adams County Fatal to Four 3 Members of Town of Saratoga Family Killed Four persons, including three members of a town of Saratoga family, were instantly killed early today in a violent collision of two autos on Highway 13 in Adams, County. The victims were: Melford Streeter, 54, Rt. 2, Nekoosa, His wife, Dorothy, 50, Their son, Orville L. Streeter, 28, [next victim’s name, age and residence was omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns] Reported in serious condition at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Friendship are [victim related to the accident omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns] who suffered [injuries omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns], and [victim omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns], [age omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns], [residence omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns] who sustained [injuries omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns] and [injuries omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns]. The accident was the worst recorded in many years in Adams County, perhaps of all time according to county officials. The crash occurred about 1:15 am in front of the Daracuse Bar in the town of Big Flats approximately 13 miles north of Friendship. Struck [undecipherable in original article] Entering the [undecipherable in original article] from the tavern driveway was the car driven by the elder Streeter was struck almost broadside by the other auto which was traveling south with [victim related to the accident omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns] at the wheel. Sheriff Frank Serles and Mrs. Serles, the under sheriff who conducted the investigation at the scene reported the vehicles were demolished. Both were thrown partially off the roadway by the shattering impact. Dr. Arthur Weihe, Adams County coroner, also participated in the investigation. The bodies of Mr. and Mr. Streeter and their son are at the Feldner Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but are expected to be available for publication Monday, together with obituaries of the three victims. Six Other Children In addition to Orville, the Streeters had one other son, Harlan, Beloit, and five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kuhle, Marshall, Wis.; Mrs. Charles Bubla, Friendship; Mrs. Melvin Hanson, Hancock; Mrs. Donald Mehlbrech, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Larry Medaugh, Bancroft. Streeter, 54, his wife, Dorothy M., 52, and their son Orville L., 28, victims of an early morning accident Saturday on Highway 13 in Adams County. All three were killed instantly. They were residents of the town of Saratoga. The accident, considered the worse in Adams County records, also took the life of [residence omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns] resident, [name omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns], [age omitted by the typist due to privacy concerns]. Presiding at the triple service will be the Rev. Myron Glick. Internment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, town of Saratoga. Mr. Streeter was born Feb. 22, 1909 in Milwaukee, the son of Orville Streeter SR. A resident of the town of Saratoga for 22 years, he was employed by the Nekoosa Foundry and Machine Works, Inc. His wife, the former Dorothy M. Elgas was born in Milwaukee Nov. 25, 1910, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Elgas. They were married in Black River Falls on June 2, 1930. Their son, Orville L. who lived with them, was born in the town of Knapp, Jackson County, July 15, 1935. Mr. and Mrs. Streeter are survived by one son, Harlan, Beloit; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kuhle, Marshall, Wis.; Mrs. Charles Bubla, Friendship; Mrs. Melvin Hanson, Hancock; Mrs. Donald Mehlbrech, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Larry Medaugh, Bancroft, and 25 grandchildren. A daughter preceded them in death. He is further survived by four brothers; Eldred and Ardel, both of South Beloit, Ill., LaVern, Tomah, and Quentin, Warrens, Wis, and was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mrs. Streeter’s survivors include two brothers; William Elgas, Madison, and Ernest Elgas, California, a stepbrother, Edward Brockway and a stepsister, both of Milwaukee. A daughter, Rosemary, Beloit, the brother and sisters survive Orville L. Streeter. A son preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Feldner Funeral Home from 2 to 10 p.m. Tuesday [editors note: Mrs. Joseph Kuhle, Marshall, Wis. Shirley Streeter preceded the elder Streeters in death.
