I have seen it many times passing it. Adams and Friendship are 2 tiny towns that are next to each other and together would be just a tiny town. Can you tell me what dates are on those postcards? If no date then maybe the postmark has one. I am surprised no one replied to you in this time. In fact I am shocked. lol. Bob

I couldn't figure out why you posted the message. I called my great aunt and Calvin Anderson was my great grandfather's older brother. I was thrown off by the Mr. & Mrs. Christ Anderson. My great grandfather's name was Hans Christian Anderson. It never occurred to me that he would use Christ as a nickname. I was thrilled to find this all. Please let me know if you are family and if you have any other information about our family. Thank you!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1310.1.1 Message Board Post: This is wonderful. I have found out more information since I originally posted this message. I am researching the Brown family for my children as their grandmother was Fern Vera Brown-Wilkins-Jensen and the mother of my x-husband. Fern's parents were Louis Eugene Brown, who is a brother of Claude Brown, and Lenora Alice Dusso. Fern was born in Dodge, Trempleau Co., Wisconsin and died in Pierce Co (Madigan Army Hospital) in 1881. She was my mother-in-law and I loved her dearly. She actually lived in Lewis Co., Washington with her 2nd husband. I knew Grandpa Brown (Louis) as an elderly man when he was married to his 2nd wife. He also lived in Tacoma. He died in 1977 and is buried in Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma. He was born to Alvin Riley Brown and Lillian Sanborn on 4-18-1894 in Wisconsin, probably La Crosse C I have found Alvin & Lillian Brown's death and buriel records as well as their obituaries, all from La Crosse Co Wisconsin. Alvin was born 6-1-1851 in Buffalo New York to J. W. Brown and Eliza Austin. I have since found out his father's name was Josiah Brown from the 1860 Iowa and 1870 Illinois Censuses. Alvin died 10-28-1930 in La Crosse Co. and is buried in the Onalaska, La Crosse Co., cemetary. Lillian Sanborn Brown died the following year, 11-14-1931 in La Crosse Co and is buried in the same cemetary. Her parents were Jeremiah and Lavina Forbush Sanborn and both families are very well documented. Lillian was born 12-20-1861 in Wisconsin, probably Adams Co. Both Lillian and Alvin's obituaries are available online through the La Crosse Library for a small fee but I will be happy to make copies of everything I have for you if you like. Lavina Forbush Sanborn died 4-30-1922 in Webster, Day Co., S. Dakota and was born 12-24-1836 to Chebar Forbush and Elizabeth Grapes. Josiah W. Brown was born approx. 1825 in Massachuttus according to his census info and Eliza Austin was born approx. 1828 in Vermont according to hers. I haven't found their parents for sure yet but do have some leads. The Sanborns and Forbush's both have published family histories which I got from Higgenson's Publishing Co and will be happy to put you in touch with them. Both qualify descendants for the Daughter's of the American Revolution as several ancestors fought in the Rev. War. anyway-my home town is Yelm Washington although I am currently living in the Bay Area of California. My x-husband is living with his current wife in this area as well and his 2 brothers are retired and living near Hood Canal in the summer months. I will be happy to put you in touch with them as they are your cousins. My daughter and son are your 3rd cousins I believe. They have 5 kids between them and live in LA and Denver respectively. I'm really doing this for them and my grand children. Would love to get together with you when I'm up in Washington at Christmas time. My daughter and her family will be there too. Please send me an e-mail at my e-mail address above so we can get together. Would love to have copies of any old pictures of the Brown family that you may have for my kids family albums.

Surnames: Bennett, Clark, Hoyt, Marshall, McIntyre, Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1584 Message Board Post: From Kilbourn Weekly Events [Kilbourn, Columbia County, Wisconsin], Thursday March 4, 1915 George McIntyre Marshall died at his home in Kilbourn Feb. 27, aged 80 years, 11 months. Though a sufferer from asthma for several years, he was not seriously affected until a few weeks before the end, the heart finally becoming affected. Mr. Marshall was born in Canada East. His father, however, was a citizen of the United States and a cousin of the eminent Rufus Choate. He was educated at Williston academy in Vermont. He learned the trade of a machinist and worked at that in Vermont. In 1865 he came to Big Spring, Adams county. There he served several terms as chairman of the town and two terms in the state legislature. He was appointed on a commission to examine and test steam or horseless road wagons, as they might be presented. He was himself credited with inventing and running the first steam road vehicle. He was an inventor of many tools and mechanical devices, among them being blacksmith shears, turbine, water wheels, wind mill, and other valuable inventions now in u! se. He moved to Kilbourn in 1879, purchasing the large brick building now known as the Kilbourn Machine Co. There for nearly twenty years he conducted a prosperous business as a foundry and machine shop, manufacturing and repairing on a large scale. He sold that to his son Frank, and erected a shop of his own in which he had perfected some invention, and was working on others, one an ideal power for automobiles. Mr. Marshall was not only a mechanical genius, but was one of the best posted men in general literature in this section. He was a close student, a constant reader, and a well-informed man on current subjects. He put in Kilbourn’s first system of water works in 1889. With every qualification that marks gentility, clean morals, positive virtues, charity for men and strict integrity, Mr. Marshall appeared to all men, at all times, under all circumstances. He was never known to fall short of those principles. He married in Vermont, Miss Julia A. Hoyt, who passed away in 1902. He leaves one son, Frank H., postmaster of Kilbourn, and two daughters, Mrs. Evaline Bennett and Miss Ruth Marshall. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bennett, Monday, under the auspices of the Masonic order. There were present from abroad Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Clark of Portage, Mrs. Clark being a cousin of Mrs. Marshall, and also Miss McIntyre of Milwaukee, a cousin of the deceased.

Surnames: CONNELL, KENNEDY Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1583 Message Board Post: From Kilbourn Weekly Events [Kilbourn, Columbia County, Wisconsin], Thursday Feb. 25, 1915, Page 5 One day last week a passing vessel broke the ice in the Chicago river, and into the open water came the body of a man. At the morgue the only scrap of identification found was the business card of a Kilbourn attorney. From this the drowned man was proved to be Phillip Connell, who for some years lived in Kilbourn, and before that had lived in Adams county. He went to Chicago nearly two years ago and had made his home some of the time with his sister, Mrs. William Kennedy. They had not seen him since Christmas, and it was thought by the authorities at the Chicago morgue that the body had been in the river since that time, just before the river was closed with ice. F. P. McManman, who had been appointed by the court as Connell’s guardian, went to Chicago Saturday and brought the remains here to be interred in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Kennedy and her husband accompanied the remains from Chicago. He was 58 years of age.
