    2. Dear Listers, Just wanted to pass along some helpful hints for sending me requests for searches. I have found that if you provide me with some or all of the following then the search is quite more successful. NAME (including middle initial if possible) MAIDEN NAME & MARRIED NAME (including spouses name if known) DATE OF DEATH (at least approximate) DATE OF BIRTH (if known) TOWN OF LOCATION (last known) If you do not have any these, please provide what you do have. Any little bit helps and will give you better results. I have received many requests over the past few days and have had quite a lot of success. Thanks to all of you and Happy New Year!

    3. Dear Adams and Marquette County Ancestor Hunters, Binksmom425's offer to the Wisconsin county mailing list subscribers is an interesting one--but you don't have to ask her, because you can do this yourself on most public library computers for FREE. Many public libraries have free public access to Ancestry.com or HeritageQuest.com databases and indexes for their patrons who do not already subscribe to these subscription databases at home. Contact your local public library for instructions and information, you may even be able to conduct searches from home after typing in your library card number. Joan Coordinator Adams Co. Surnames: FISCHER Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1595 Message Board Post: From the Wood County Times [Nekoosa, Wood Co. WI], Jan. 26, 1911, Page 1 Charlie Fischer Fatally Injured When Attempting to Put Belt on Machine in Port Edwards Charlie Fischer, seventeen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. August Fischer of this city, and fatally injured last Saturday afternoon at about 3:30 o'clock when attempting to put on a belt in the wood room of the Port Edwards sulphite mill. The young man was working on the conveyor that carries the blocks of wood. The belt which runs the conveyor slipped off and in putting it back on the pulley the unfortunate boy's clothing was caught in the shaft with the result that his legs and arms were broken and internal injuries were inflicted which caused his death within three hours after the accident. He was brought to the home of his parents here where Drs. Aylward of Port Edwards and Waters of this city did all they could for him, though an examination showed that there was little if any hope of recovery from such terrible injuries as he had received. Charlie Fischer was a young man of excellent qualities, faithful in his work and fo good habits. Among the younger people he was very popular and the bereaved family has the tender sympathy of everybody in the community in their dark hour of trouble, the loss of their boy. The remains were prepared for burial by Undertaker Voss and the funeral took place Tuesday, the body being laid to rest in the cemetery at Hadlock, Adams county. The family formerly lived there and Charlie lived there with his grandparents on their farm in Adams county until less than a year ago when he came to live with his parents and go to work at Port Edwards where his father is also employed.

Surnames: DOUGLAS, HART, HOFFMAN Classification: Marriage Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1591 Message Board Post: From the Kilbourn Weekly Events [Columbia County Wisconsin], Thursday October 15, 1914, Page 7 Column 3 Married: Douglas - Hart At the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Hoffman, in Kilbourn, Oct. 14, the Rev. O. E. DeWitt officating, Miss Maybelle E. Douglas of Point Bluff was married to Mr. Arthur E. Hart, of Grand Rapids, Wisconsin. The bride is one of the best known women in Adams county. She resigned the office of county superintendent of schools but a few weeks ago, having proved herself to be an ideal officer. Few, if any men in that office ever traveled over as much of the county visiting schools as she did. The schools of Adams county were never in more prosperous condition than they are now under her capable, intelligent conduct. As a school teacher, in church work, in directing Sunday school and educational conventions, Miss Douglas was a powerful influence for good. She made friends with all people she met officially and socially, and is admired by all acquaintances and loved by her friends. Her marriage is attended by most sincere wishes for happiness by about all of Adams county and many Kilbou! rn friends. The groom is manager of the Hart Manufacturing company at Grand Rapids, Wis., and is the inventor of the Hart Heating System. After a two weeks trip in this state and Michigan they will be at home in Grand Rapids.
