I know they are still alive as when Alma died they sent flowers. I haven't seen Arne "Bud" in years but they are down south too. After Lori moves in a couple of weeks I will ask to see the "history " books. So if you need specific info I will look for that....Don't know where you are but she will be moving to Lodi, just north of Madison, I live in DeForest, which is 10 mi north of Madison.

Her mother Hannah Beals m. (1) Samuel Bruckner and (2) Ener August Enerson. Hannah died before 1930. Do you have that date? Ener Sr. and his son Ener were in Dickinson County, Michigan in 1930. I can't find Arne in that census anywhere. I think Arne lives in Gassville, Arkansas now. His brother Ener passed away in 1972. There is another connection of the Enersons with the Warps. Ole Enerson married Cora Ann Warp, Almer's sister. It is believed that he left his family behind. Cora and her sons lived in Evanston, Illinois in 1930. These Enersons were both sons of Arne Enerson, my great-great-great-uncle. Both Ener and Ole were born in Norway. I am only lately getting a handle on that family. Yes you are right that everyone in Adams County is related in some way. Or so it seems.

Repose cemetery Sunday afternoon after a tragic close to her short life. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran church at Adams Sunday with the Rev. Frank Berg of Wittenberg officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Koenecke sang "He Knows" and "God's Tomorrow." Carol Joann was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Christofferson who live in the town of Preston. She was born there on May 6, 1941 and passed away at the Portage hospital on Dec. 11. Her death was caused by a flaming celluloid comb which ignited her clothing. At the time of the accident the mother had stepped out to the barn when the baby's brother, William Charles, came running to tell her Carol was on fire. The frightened mother ran to the house and threw a coat around the baby to smother the flames but her swaeater, neck and hair were badly burned. They called a doctor who rushed her to the Portage hospital but apparently the flames had damaged the baby's lungs and she passed away that night. She is survived by her sorrowing parents and one brother. Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Baumgartner and family of Chicago; Mrs. Emil Christofferson and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kinney of Onalaska, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hagerman and Dean of Windom, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hamilton, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Payne and family, and Mrs. Winn Gerard of Coloma, and Mrs. Charles Seely of La Crosse.

Nichols were united in marriage. As Miss Bessie Reynolds played the pretty wedding march, the bride and groom marched in and stood between beautiful chrysanthemums where the ceremony was performed by Rev. C. V. Robinson in the presence of about sixty relatives and friends. Immediately after the ceremony and congratulations, an elegant wedding dinner was served. The bride was attired in blue satin and pearls. She is another one of Adams County's successful teachers to leave the field, a popular and charming young lady, and all who know her think just as Roy does that he has won a prize, well-yes, and Della has too, for Roy is very industrious and a well-to-do farmer of Dell Prairie, and he is also clerk of that town. After the wedding dinner, Mrs. Nichols exchanged her bridal robe for a dark blue traveling suit, was led to the door by her husband where A. F. Woodring awaited with his auto, which on arrival had been hastily decorated with long streamers of old shoes, etc. and amid cheers and good wishes and a most generous shower of rice from all, they hurried away for Kilbourn where they took the afternoon train for Chicago and Kingston, Ill., where they will spend two weeks. They received many valuable and useful gifts and have the hearty good wishes of a host of friends. They will be at home at Dell Prairie after Nov. 25th.

That story never made its way to my family. I had wondered what became of them. They were listed in the 1870 census but nowhere in 1880. Now I know why. The Waller brothers were well-known for their woodworking ability. Ole and Andrew Waller were Norwegian bachelor farmers who carved the altar for the Lutheran church in Arkdale. It was in the church at Dellwood for a while, then went to a Methodist church and now is back in Arkdale at Trinity Lutheran. My family has a connection to the Hilleboes - my great-grandmother's first cousin Martin Kleven married Helena Hilleboe. We are also connected through marriage to the Wallers. Have you given any thought to publishing your great-great-grandmother's memoirs? I am sure the Adams County genweb site would find a place for them. Are they English or Norwegian?

According to my great-great grandmother's memoirs, the Wallers made the coffins for her grandparents. Also, she reports on the death of Isaac Rosgaard or or about July 4, 1876 at a Fourth of July celebration dance. He tried to break up a fight at the dance and was stabbed to death. He also had a sister who died soon after from the grief of losing her brother.
