Laura's daughter Annie Mills married Omar Baggs, Horace's son by Sally. They lived in Elkhorn in 1880. Horace lived with them so apparently my great great grandmother was deceased already. Ella Mills came to Watertown, NY at some point and married my great grandfather Benjamin George Sutton. She may have returned to WI after he died in 1905. She died in 1907 - Paul

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XEC.2ACE/1609.1 Message Board Post: Don, You are missing one other of Adolph Hans & Ernestena Martin's living children. Her name was Sarah M Martin, a/k/a "Matie". Her middle name was most likely Matilda. Ernestena stated on the 1900 census (Big Flats-Adams Co, WI) that she had bore 5 children and that 4 were alive on 29 June 1900. They also stated on that census that they both immigrated in 1892 and had been in the US for 8 years. All 8 of the living children were born in WI. I believe that the deceased child was between the birth of Alma Augusta b 1898, and Awalt Frederick b1900, but there are discrepancies in the children's birthdates. Bennie lied about his DAY of birth. And Martha and Olga's dates are only 7 months apart in the same year 1895. Sarah "Matie", was born 1904 and married John Davidson. They resided in Big Flats Twp as well. They had, at least, 2 sons: Albert J & Freddie. I have been researching this family for a friend, who is Bennie Martin's grandaughter. Do you have any other information on Gustave Lueck or Ernestena's mother by chance. You can contact me at <[email protected]> Patti Dickman

Surnames: Harwood, Bishop, Tomz, Roth Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1634 Message Board Post: From the Adams County Times, Adams/Friendship, Adams County Wisconsin. Friday, December 18, 1942 George W. Harwood is Killed when struck by Car DIES OF INJURIES IN HOSPITAL HERE TUESDAY MORNING Another life was added to Adams county's traffic casaulty list Tuesday morning when George W. Harwood, 63, Friendship, was fatally injured while on his way to work at the North Wester railroad yards here. Harwood was struck by an automobile driven by Will Green, Big Flats, while crossing Highway 13 a short distance norht of the Adams-Friendship High schol, and just opposite the home of John Wincell about 7:30 a.m. He suffered a fractured skull and other injuries as he was hurtled over the right fender o fthe machine and against the windshield post. Death came about 15 minutes after he was taken to the Adams-Friendship hospital. the death was called accidental by Coroner Robert W. Roseberry and no inquest will be held. Green told Sheriff S. R. Stone that he sounded the horn and applied the brakes when he observed Harwood crossing the street in the path of his car. Apparently there were no witnesses to the accident. Le Roy Drew, first on the scene, reported it to Sheriff Stone. Green claimed that Harwood failed to heed his warning and as the car skidded on the icy pavement the driver attempted to avoid striking the man by swinging to the left. Green was driving south to Adams to begin work at that William Anderson garage and reported that visibility on that dark and snowy morning was poor. It is believed Harwood was crossing the highway to take advantage of a short-cut through the west section of the city to the yards. The victim was born in Tachan, Poland, on March 20, 1879. He was married to Miss Eva Bishop in Chicago 37 years ago. Mr. Harwood is survived by his wife and six children, Rudolph, Gustav, Mrs. Anna Tomz, Helen, Mrs. Mary Roth, and Genevieve, all of Chicago. Mr. Harwood would have been eligible for retirement from the railroad here next year. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Adams at 9 o'clock Friday morning, December 18. I am in need of info about other Harwoods in Adams county. Anyone researching the Harwood line(s). Thankyou Robert Schieber [email protected]

    3. Vickie - This may not be of much help, but by doing a place search in the LDS Family History Library Catalog you will find a film of the confirmation classes 1868-1924 for the Lutheran Church in Arkdale and Strong Prairie Township. This can be ordered through your local Family History Center for a small fee for viewing at their facility. If you "Google" Roche a Cree you will find two or three sites that provide insight to the early history of the area. Happy Hunting!
