Andrew's older brother, James Attleson 1851-1923, was married to Mary Olson 1864-1945 (his 2nd wife); James and Mary had a daughter named Josephine A. Attleson 1889-1981, who married my great-uncle, William M. Bloomfield 1891-1953. This makes Andrew an uncle to William's wife, Josie. William and Josie had a son named Harold W. Bloomfield 1917-1987, who is my first cousin once removed. This is my connection to the Attlesons. A BLOOMFIED family reunion is held each year on the last Sunday of August at the Castle Rock county park in Adams county; Delores Attleson/Mrs. Earl Lindgren, daughter of William Attleson 1878-1936, and Mildred Attleson/Mrs. Gary S. Bagley, daughter of George M. Attleson, usually attend these Bloomfield family reunions. I have acquired most of my Attleson family information from Delores and Mildred. How do you descend from Andrew Attleson 1861-1944?

Delightful woman who had a sock monkey on the back of her sofa. I saw this note because I was watching 'cold case files' on A&E and they wanted cold cases. This is the one I thought of. I do have a wedding in 1888 (no date) of Ole Anderson, son of Anders Maursan(?) and Else Nielsen, born in 16 April 1864 in Sverig(?) AND Johanne Marie Petersen, daughter of Peter Petersen and Ane Petersen, born 19 [March?] 1868 in Hævlev(?). I'm sorry about the question marks. My Danish is rusty and the scribe had bad handwriting. If these ARE your Andersens, then I have Baptismal dates for eight of thier children. Dan

    1. Death Records Added to Wisconsin Vital Records Index
    2. Melissa McLimans
    3. Hello All, Last month the Wisconsin Historical Society introduced our new Pre-1907 Wisconsin Vital Records Index, which can be found at www.wisconsinhistory.org/vitalrecords. We began the index with nearly 1 million birth records and are excited to announce the addition of nearly 400,000 Wisconsin death records. The new death index, like its companion, began as a 1970s microfiche publication. The Schoenleber Foundation of Milwaukee generously provided funds to convert them to electronic form, so now genealogists have free public access to a comprehensive pre-1907 index to Wisconsin births and deaths. Marriages, for all Wisconsin counties, are up next. You can discover ancestors by individual name, by browsing by county and year, or by exact date. Births and deaths can both be searched at the same time and then viewed separately, if desired. State law prohibits publication on the Web of original birth or death certificates, so when you discover someone about whom you want more details, you can order a paper copy of the complete certificate from the Society online. Most are delivered within two weeks, and Society members receive a 10-percent discount on each order. Or, you can use the index as a research tool that points you to the birth and death records that you need. Vital records are not the only genealogical source available on the Society Web site. To learn more about what we have online check out our genealogy page at www.wisconsinhistory.org/genealogy. Hope you enjoy the new additions. Melissa McLimans

Mr. Dewing was born in French Creek, Chantauque county, New York. In 1831 he enlisted in the Eleventh Regiment of the Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and was discharged in 1865. He participated in eleven battles, the last being the last battle of the rebellion, the charge upon Fort Blakely--"the Eleventh being the first to reach the parapet, and fighting hand to hand broke the rebel lines, and were the first to plant the flag upon the works of Blakely." The bravery and daring of the Eleventh in the last struggle with the Confederates is a recorded fact of history, and Mahlon Dewing was ever spoken of by his comrades as one of the bravest of soldiers. Mr. Dewing was the husband of Amanda Dewing who will be remembered by our readers as the author of many fine contributions to the Press.! There was a large attendance at the funeral on Wednesday the 7th. Services conducted by Rev. J. H. McChesney. I am not related to these people. This article is in its entirety

    1. Death of Mr. Peter S. Weber, May 16, 1879
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Weber, Lathrop, Crandall, Norton, Norris, Graham, Martin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XEC.2ACE/1687 Message Board Post: From the May 24, 1879 issue of the Adams County Press WEBER.--In Delton, Sauk county, May 16th 1879, Peter S. Weber, aged 74 years, 2 months and 8 days. Mr. Weber was born in Peterborough, Madison county, New York, on the 8th of March, 1805. In 1826 he married Ruth A. Lathrop, by whom he had one child, now living, now Mrs. Samuel Crandall of Nile, N.Y. In 1828 his wife died, and six years after he married Maria A. Norton of Peterborough. Soon after this marriage he removed to Friendship, Allegany county, New York, where he resided until the Spring of 1858, when he came to Wisconsin, and settled here in Friendship, where he resided until the spring of 1867. The family circle after coming here, was soon sadly broken. In 1860 a daughter, Elizabeth, a young lady of rare graces of mind and person, and greatly beloved by a large cirlce of friends, died. The next year, Ellen, another daughter of twelve years, died; and a week later the sorrowing mother, worn with watching by the bedside of her loved ones, followed her little daughter over into the Beautiful Land. The war called two of the sons, Dwight N. and Edwin H. to the service of the country, and though both came safely through, the severed household was never again to be united. At the end of his military service Dwight went to Montana, and E. H. Weber went into business in the Northwestern part of this state. From the death of his wife to the spring of 1867, Mr. Weber resided here in Friendship, his household the greater part of time consisting of two daughters, Flora and Mary, and his youngest son, John. In the spring of that year he disposed of his property here, and afterwards made his home with his children, a part of the time at first with his son E. H. Weber, of Dunn county, but afterwards and most of the time with is daughter Mrs. Edward Norris, of Delton, at whose residence he died. Mr. Weber died of the disease usually called softening of the brain; and, as is the case always with that disease, it seriously impaired his mental faculties. Always kindly and forbearing in his family, as the dark clouds settled upon his mind he seemed to grow more affectionate, and cling more closely and lovingly to his friends. Mr. Weber was a good man in all the relations in life--an affectionate husband, a kind and wise father, an upright and respected citizen, a good neighbor and a firm friend. Mr. Weber was the father of twelve children, two of whom died in infancy, and eight of whom survive him. They are Mrs. S. Crandall, of Nile, New York; Mrs. Edward Norris, of Delton, this state; W. M. Weber, of Mt Vernon, Kentucky; Dwight N. Weber, of Hamilton, Montana; Mrs. H. C. Graham, of Manchester, Iowa; E. H. Weber, of Madison, this state; Mrs. H. E. Martin, of Masonville, Iowa; and John B. Weber, of Osage, Kansas. The deceased was buried last Monday by the side of his wife and daughters in Mount Repose Cemetery. An appropriate sermon was given. I am not related to this family.
