Daughter Flora was married in 1873 to L. A. Rous. Mary and "W" Benedict were listed as witnesses at her wedding. The 1875 Wisconsin State census list Willis as Head of Household with 3 males and 2 females in the house. 1880 Census finds Mary head of house with Herbert and Lizzie living in Washington State. Willis and Hirum are there as well living in different houses. My guess is Isaac died sometime between 1870 and 1873. I would love to find his grave if possible. Any link to cemeteries in the area would be greatly appriciated. He doesn't come up on the Wisconsin State internet death index. Thanks Layne Bachman Spokane WA

Schoff and she is referred to as Mrs. Hannah Joyal in his obituary published in the Adams County Press of 5 September 1891. I just ran across a convincing piece of evidence that Hiram is indeed her father as you suggest. The Vital Records of Dana Massachusetts have an entry for Hannah D. Joyle, born 25 Oct 1843 of parents Hiram Joyle and Clarinda. That seems to nail down her parentage. It also now seems likely that Hannah gave birth to Hiram D. out of wedlock or was married to a man that she wanted to forget so chose not to use his name. We will probably never know what really happened. At this point I have not found any reference to any other marriage or the birth of Hiram D. There is a Hannah Joyle listed in 1860 New Hampshire census (Nashua, Hillsborough County - factory worker living in a boarding house) but there is nothing definitive to connect her to our Hannah although I feel fairly certain that it is her. The age on the census form and her date of birth fit as does the fact the Hiram D. was born in New Hampshire so we know that she lived there for a time. Nashua is only 8 miles from Litchfield where Hiram was living in 1860. Researching Hiram D. has been unproductive so far except for census listings all of which reflect a different place of birth for his parents.
I just recently found a connection between my Oswego County, NY Spragues and Hiram Merriman who moved from Oswego to Lincoln in Adams county between 1870 and 1880. I have quite a bit of information on the Sprague ancestry in NY and New England. Would like to know if anyone in this area of Wisconsin might have any old photos and documents relating to Hiram, Columbia and their descendants. I believe they lived in the county at least to the 1900 census. In 1880, their children were Ida, age 21, Belle, age 20, Grace, age 18, James, age 16, Ward, age 9 and Myrtin (Martin?), age 5. Columbia's brother, Oliver P. Sprague is a gg grandfather to me. Any info appreciated! The tomatoes are of an extra early variety developed by Jung, the seed man of Randolph, Wisconsin, and named by him "Way-Ahead." A remarkable feature of the cluster is the fact that all the 13 tomatoes ripened practically at the same time and while they vary somewhat in size they are pretty much alike. The early varieties of tomatoes are never very large, but these are all of respectable size ranging from about one and one-half inches in diameter to more than two and one-half inches. They were all nice, clean skinned tomatoes, with no speck or spot of scab or rot on their surface. Dan told the editor there really were 14 tomatoes in the cluster when first sighted but he thoughtlessly picked one off before he realized that the cluster should be gathered intact that others might see what Adams soil can bring forth. He showed the place where the other tomato had been attached. August WALCZYK made a photograph of the remarkable cluster, a copy of which may be sent to "Believe It or Not" Riply, who should certainly be interested in anything so unusual.
