    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Heidelja Surnames: Atcherson, Heidel Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.adams/115.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Some of these Atchersons once in Plainville (Adams County, Wisconsin) went to Medo Township in Blue Earth County, Minnesota during the 1870s. My maternal grandfather was Walter R Atcherson born in October 1883 in Medo Township, MN. It is interersting that you have confirmed my recent discovery that my Atchersons who had settled in Adams County, Wisconsin had been Yankees who had come from Windham and/or Windsor County, Vermont. What is so curious to me is that they had migrated West to Wisconsin about the same time my paternal German immigrant forefathers had come to nearby Green Lake County, Wisconsin from Prussia. My gr-grandfather Heidel then migrated westward to Minnesota (Nicollet County north of Blue Earth County) as my gr-grandfather Atcherson did by about the same time. It appears possible that Thomas Atcherson was my ggggr- or gggr-grandfather. I find both a Thomas Atcherson and a Thomas Atcherson, Jr in the 1820-'30 censuses. I would be very interested to know when the Atchersons may had first settled in Vermont and where they came from previous to about 1820. Author: MNGenWeb Surnames: Lunar, Lonar, Lonear Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wisconsin.counties.adams/1549.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: For years, grandmother thought her grandmothers maiden name was Lunar. Then I came up with Lonar or Lonear spelling. Here is what she originally wrote. Gulick Allickson was born Nob 17 1866, in Freeborn County, Minnesota, to Halvor and Berget (Lunar) Allickson. After leaving Norway in 1859, Halvor traveled to Wisconsin. He lived there until 1865, when he moved to Freeborn County and finally to Chippewa County, Minnesota in 1870. Berget came to America with her parents, Guluf and Osner Lunar in 1861. They settled in Dane County, Wisconsin, for several years before moving to Adams, County, Wisconsin. Halvor Allickson and Berget Lunar were married in 1865. To them were born the following children: Allick, Gulick, Helen, Adolph and Martin. And it goes on...maybe mine is connected I see the SSDI has a few of yours with the Lonear spelling. And some Lonear show up at http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I took a few digital pictures of it today at random and can send them to you when I get your email address. You may send your email address to me at [email protected] with the subject "Calvary Cemetery" so I can sort it out of SPAM. I would like a list of surnames so I can try to find the tombstones in the cemetery. (It's not very big. Just a couple or so acres.) I should get back there sometime in the next few weeks, perhaps even next week.
