They immigrated to the US through Bremen, Germany in 1902 with Esther's son Janos .In the 1910 Census os Monongahela, PA he is listed with Esther as "Lewis" Layer.. Esther died in 1915 and her son Janos (John) was an adult on his own. In the 1920 Monongahela cenus he is listed as "Louis Layerd" living as a boarder next door to John and his wife and son.I don't know what became of him after that.
