I am not familiar w/the Forbush name in Adams Co....however that does not mean there are not relatives here. I am currently photographing & recording the Monroe Center/Spring Creek Cemetery and have done research & some photos for Stongs Praire Cem. so far I haven't seen the Forbush name-but there are a few more Russell's and 'a ton' of stones to go, so I have added your 'names' to my list to keep my eyes & ears open & will let you know if I find anything that can help you out. I have put some more Surnames on this post to cover more names on Dawes CD/my cem. lists. We have recently finished updating our Roberts/Olson family tree & are not related to the Louis E. and Ida Olson you refer to. Info I am looking for: we have a Thomas Roberts Born in 1825 (Wales) & married to a Marie Richmond in Waukesha county....we have found her grave & past info....but he seems to have fallen off the map around 1860......we 'believe' he was to have been buried in the Kettle Moraine area...... If so, I would be interested in the CD as well. My gg-grandfather is George Henry Forbush. His daughter Addie was married to Elbert Russell, too. In addition, in the 1905 Wisconsin census, Elbert & Addie lived in Stanley, Chippewa, WI and lived close to a Louis E. and Ida Olson. Is this part of your family? Back in 2005 I corresponded with a Leroy Olsen who seemed to know quite a lot about the old Russell place. He was nice enough to visit the local cemetery and inventory the Russell headstones for me, and I recall that he even sent me photos...quite a nice fellow...perhaps he is related to you. If you know him, tell him I said Hey! Yes, keep me informed as to the availability of the CD; I would certainly like to have one. You can also tell me of the particulars to obtain one. Paul E. (Better late than never!) 1-Our home sits on 1 acre of the original George W. Russell 80 acre farm! 2-George L. Dawes writings: there was never a book or publication,George started a old scrapbook in the 20 or 30's, he wrote little notes of intrest, stories, cut out old news articles and went around the neighborhood gleaning bits & pieces of 'other' families histories & info. And as with all of these type writings-alot of Dawes family history...civil war...etc. He assembled it into a old paper scrapbook that was passed from neighbor to neighbor for them to read and enjoy it. Well, needless to say, over many years of handling this scrapbook was picked through, items removed, parts copied/etc...finally we were given in 1988 over 70 pages of the writings (there was no way to know how many pages of writings or photos were in the original-and of course there was no title, but we retyped and have just put all we could locate of George's work, of the original onto CD. We of course had to edit, replace missing photos...then we added an Appendix in back which includes other things ! and 3 nice Plat Maps from 1900, 1919 & 1931...we have titled it: "The Early Years A Scrapbook by George L. Dawes". The maps really show the area and any land Russell/Stewarts may have had. We hope to distribute the CD shortly. 3-The copy we have done has the stories of William, and wife Edith (Stewart-daughter of 'Little' Joe Stewart)& their children. Also Grandma Kane. And some Hammond family members. 4-I am working on photographing the Monroe Center/Spring Creek Cemetery & will watch for your mentioned grave stones. Hoping to hear from you; Patricia & Jerry Olson Monroe Center Wisconsin Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
