Mr Meyer has been a member of the interstate commerce commission for the past 25 years with office in Washington. He is spending his 28th summer on the Brule. Thomas Meyer from Fargo visited his parents, Mr and Mrs B H Meyer over Sunday,leaving Monday. They also had as guests Adolph F Meyer and party of Minneapolis. The latter a civil engineer is a brother of B H Meyer. Mrs Mary Stuart is visting her sister Mrs Park Miller at Mellen. Miss Eleanor Peterson, a Brule school teacher, spent the week end at her home in Pattison park. Harry Anderson,principal went to Superior over Sunday and Labor day. Mrs Emil Woerle visited in Brule over the week end from her home in Staples Minnesota. Sister Ione who was Helen Gamache, a teacher in the La Crosse convent, recently spent a week at her mother's home in Brule. The Brule Ladies Aid society meet was held at H E Webster's home last week. Mr and Mrs Walter Erickson from Mason City visited a A A Baillie's home in Brule. Mr and Mrs David Deneen of Minneapolis were also guests. Mr and Mrs Milfred Ulven spent the week end at Washburn. Raymond and Fred Swanson have been making improvements on their mother's home near Brule. Eldon Smith of Valley Farm on Upper Brule river has left with Lee Stewart for Mt Morris Illinois where Smith will enter high school. He will be employed and have his home with the Kable family. The Kables operate one of the largest magazine and periodical publishing plants in the U S. Later Mr Smith who has made his home with Mrs Dagerman and family at Valley Farm will have a chance to be employed in the Kable Company's plant. Glenn Honeyman and father of Rice Lake have left with car and trailer for Solon Springs. They may go to Mound Minnesota for the annual bird dog trials which were to have been held at Solon Springs but were taken to Mount instead. Mrs Fritz Brevig is back from St Francis hospital recovering from an operation. Emerlaie and Anthony Matalick of Upper Brule have both started high school in Superior. Mrs Martha Barnes teaches the Francis Willard school this year. She taught a school south of Iron River last year. Mrs Hazel Lind Swanson of Poplar as been chosen teacher for the Hazel Prairie school near Valley Farm. Messrs. Walter hamblin,R g Stevens and Mr Wright left for Chicago this past week.They spent their vaction here fishing the Brule and also took a trip to Herbster.
