Caught under a fallen corn shredder for five hours, Mrs Freitag,underwent amputation of one limb Thursday afternoon but was unable to rally her strength and passed away Friday. Services were October 12th at 1;30 at the home and 2pm at Redeemer Lutheran church with Rev O P Medenwald, officiating. Burial was made in Amery cemetery with Elmer Stenberg of Clear Lake in charge of funeral arrangements for C W Stenberg who had another funeral that same day. Augusta Henke freitag was one of seven sisters, was born in Posen Germany November 22nd 1861. In 1884 she came to America making her home at Stillwater. On November 18 1886, she was united in marriage to Andrew Freitag to which union 5 children were born. In 1895,47 years ago,she moved with the family to Amery,residing at the present farm until the time of her death last Friday afternoon. She was a charter mmember of Redeemer Lutheran and took an active interest in the affairs of the church to the very end.
