He spent his early life in that vicinity. He was united in marriage on June 7, 1917 to Mrs Mabel Larson at New Richmond. He served his country during the World War and after his discharge, located in this city where he has been engaged in the restaurant business. Courteous, capable and unusually efficient in his line of work, he was successful in gaining and holding a large patronage. He recently sold his restaurant in this city and had just completed a beautiul modern home on the bank of Apple river near Cameron Bridge, which he and his wife had occupied about a month. His skill as a clever fisherman, attracted many well known memebers of the Izaak Walton League of Chicago and as their guide, he obtained considerable recognition and made Amery well known as the gateway to the Land O Lakes region. For several years he was a guest at the annual reunion of the club in Chicago. Death came entirely without warning at 2:30 Wednesday morning, December 5, at the home of Charles Bonnett in this city, where he and his wife had been spending a few days on account of the illness of his wife's mother He had complained of being slightly indisposed during the day but retired as usual at 10. His labored breathing awakened his wife at 2:30 and before medical aid could reach him he died without regaining consciousness. Funeral services with Rev Helland officiating were held at the Norwegian church in this city Friday at 2. The American Legion of which the deceased was an honored member, had charge of the funeral and gave the farewell taps at the Amery cemetery where interment took place. He leaves to mourn his death, his widow, and a host of friends. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ WI-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
