Death came to Mrs Renander at 5pm October 6 at the home of her daughter at Hammond. Klara Mathilda Johansson was born April 10 1862 in Vastby Skaraborgstan Sweden. She came to this country at the age of 22 years and came directly to St Paul. On April 7 1888 she was married to August Renander and to this union was born six children, one Hanna Argena, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, three sons,Axel and Oscar of Clayton and Arthur of Long Island, two daughters Ethel of Grand Rapids Michigan and Myrtle of Hammond and six grand children. At the time of death she was 80 years,5 months and 26 days. She was 80 years, one month and 14 days. Funeral services were held in Minneapolis on Wednesday evening and on Thursday at 2pm at the Norwegian Lutheran church at Hazel S D where she was laid to rest beside her husband in the church cemetery. Suffering a brain concussion and lacerations,Mr Herzog remembers nothing from Saturday until he regained consciousness on Monday. What actually happened is not exactly known because of this and the fact that no one saw the actual accident. Nick Popoe of Turtle Lake was released to his home on the eighth. Miss Eilene Klatt ofDeer Park underwent a tonsilectomy on the tenth and went home on Sunday. Miss Charlotte Kurschinski of Spring Valley and Mrs Albert Norlund of Balsam Lake were tonsilectomy patients on the 12th. John DeLawyer of Deronda was released to his home on the tenth. Andrew M Olson St Croix route was discharged from the Hospital on the 11th. Herman Sandquist of Centuria a surgical patient at the hospital was discharged the 11th. Paul Martinson was a medical patient from the 9th to 12th. Earl Gorres who fractured his leg on September 17 was discharged from the hospital the fifth. Mrs Mary Strasser,Amery route 1, was admitted to the hopital on the 11th for treatment. August Reichet was discharged the tenth after receiving treatment for a gunshot wound suffered the fourth. Herman Albertson of Milltown suffered a stroke and was brought to the hospital the ninth. Helen Mettler was admitted to the hospital the 11th. Mrs Elmer Karkkanen of Turtle Lake was admitted to the hospital for observation the ninth. Virgil Johnson of route 3 injured his left leg on the ninth and was taken to the hospital the same day. Guy Whitner, Amery route 2 was taken to the hospital the 8th with a badly infected hand. He was operated on the ninth and was discharged the 11th from the hospital. Inez Schock daughter of John Schock was operated on for a ruptured appendix the 7th. Four cases of scarlet fever have been recorded in the city of Amery and as a precautionary measure, the first grade has been closed. Thirty ducks were brought back by a party of Amery hunters who went up to the A M Paulson hunting lodge on Yellow River, east of Hertel. In the party were Mr Paulson,Tony Paulsin,Dr C A Nelson,Frank Finney and R H McKinney. A bridal shower was given for Miss Helen Peterson at the Walter Peterson home Monday evening. Mr and Mrs William McGuffy of Chicago are here for a month's vacation. They are spending the time at the home of Mrs McGuffey's parents, Mr and Mrs George Nelson. Mrs Edwin Warner returned Saturday from St Paul after a few days visit with friends and relatives. Mr and Mrs Ed Neitge Jr and Mrs Neitge Sr spent Sunday with relatives in St Paul. Mrs Hans Amundson spent Thursday in New Richmond. Corporal Roy Houghdahl returned to artillery camp in Texas after a few days with his mother. His brother, Lloyd was recently inducted into the army. Mr Houghdahl now has three sons in the Army. Mr and Mrs Roy Aronson of St Paul were recent visitors at the Harry Torgeson home. Mrs Mary Fouks returned recently from a two weeks visit with her son,Earl and family at Valley City N D. George Johnson spent Sunday at the M C Emerson home in Clear Lake. Carl Johnson who is stationed with the U S Navy at Wold Chamberlain Field in Minneapolis spent the week end at his home. A group of friends gatthered at the Henry Hanson home on Sunday to help them celebrate their silver wedding. Rev Carl H Olson spoke at a convention of Luther Leagues at Dresser Sunday evening. Marvin Helmer visited with Evelyn Johnson on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Louis Iverson are spending the week in the Dakotas. The Conway Stannards spent the week end at the Art Wilburg home. Mrs Hilda Wilson and Margaret Johnson of Amery were among other hosts of close relatives who attended the funeral of Emil Johnson of Balsam Lake on Saturday held at Balsam Lake. Mr and Mrs Charles Faught of Minneapolis were Saturdy evening guests at the home of her brother, Mr and Mrs Oscar Johnson and family. Miss Blanche Holland and Jean Clark spent Sunday at their resepective homes in Balsam Lake. They are employed on defense work in Minnesota. Mrs Gladys Hannscon and her two daughters accompanied by Mrs Lenard Hannscon of Frederic were Sunday dinner guests at Kennedy's. Mrs Lawrence Volgren of Lake Wapogasset spent from Saturday to Tuesday with her mother, Mrs Harry Delande in River Falls. The bride wore a woolen two piece dress of coffee and tobacco brown. Her hat was of matching material with hand stitched quills, leading off the face. She wore a corsage of gardenias and Johanna Hill roses. She carried a sterling rosary of crystal beads, which was a gift of the groom. The bride's sister, Lucille was her only attendant. She wore a woolen dress of moss green with an australian green feather hat and accessories of brown. Her corsage consisteed of peach gladioli, mums and yellow tea roses. She wore a six strand gold necklace, a gift of the bride. The bridegroom was attired in a suit of brown gabardine. The best man, John Schaus, a cousin of the bride, worse a fall suit of green and brown tweed. Each of the young men wore a white rose. A reception of about 60 guests was held at the home of the bride immediately following the ceremony. Caught under a fallen corn shredder for five hours, Mrs Freitag,underwent amputation of one limb Thursday afternoon but was unable to rally her strength and passed away Friday. Services were October 12th at 1;30 at the home and 2pm at Redeemer Lutheran church with Rev O P Medenwald, officiating. Burial was made in Amery cemetery with Elmer Stenberg of Clear Lake in charge of funeral arrangements for C W Stenberg who had another funeral that same day. Augusta Henke freitag was one of seven sisters, was born in Posen Germany November 22nd 1861. In 1884 she came to America making her home at Stillwater. On November 18 1886, she was united in marriage to Andrew Freitag to which union 5 children were born. In 1895,47 years ago,she moved with the family to Amery,residing at the present farm until the time of her death last Friday afternoon. She was a charter mmember of Redeemer Lutheran and took an active interest in the affairs of the church to the very end. The couple were attended by Mrs Ingwold Haroldson,friend of the bride and groom andCliford Christenson, brother of the bride. The bride wore a two piece soldier blue dress with accessories to match and had a corsage. The bridesmid was attired in a blue dress with tan accessories. The groom and his attendant wore conventional business suits with white carnation boutonnieres. Saturday evening friends and neighbors honored the couple with a party. The hall was decorated with pink and white and the wedding cake was cut and served.
