Obit in today's Houston Chronicle. JOANNE WHITTINGTON, of Houston, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2000. Joanne was born on January 26, 1930 in Petrolia, Pennsylvania and attended business school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Affectionately known by her family as "MeMa", she was a 32-year member of Westbury United Methodist Church in Houston. Preceded in death by her brother, Fred Barnhart; she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Frank Whittington; daughter, Janet Gayle Donovan and husband Gregory; sons, Mark Richard Whittington and wife Chantel, Scott Alan Whittington and wife Teri, Blake Wesley Whittington and partner Garrett Biehle; sister, Janet Ray and husband Carl; grandchildren, Tyler Whittington, Amanda Whittington, Justin Donovan, and Julian Donovan. Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Friday, August 18, 2000 in the Morrow Room of The Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek (Williams Trace Exit). Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 19, 2000 at Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200 Willowbend (at West Bellfort), with Dr. Richard Heyduck, officiating.
