General Grant was a drunkard who was lucky the war came along and gave him an opoprtunity to distinguish himself. He was certainly not a gentleman and had no honor what so ever. I have also heard that he owned slaves -- i don't know if this is true or not . It is funny how history is always rewritten by the victors in war. Sue
