Hello Tom, I met the grandson of William Washington Whittington, back in July while taking pictures of headstones at the Butter Cemetery, at Forest Hill, Louisiana. Later that afternoon my husband and I visited with him at Pine Prairie. In late June there was a post at this website about the passing of Rebecca C. Whittington. That was this man's mother. His father was Boyd Whittington, b. 17 Dec. 1904 d. 25 May 1979. Boyce was Boyd's twin brother. Boyce died 26 Jul 1909 is buried at Science Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is about 6 miles southeast of Glenmora. I saw the inscription by Thomas R. Carroll dated Oct. 10, 1871. It was in purple ink. Thomas R. Carroll was the husband of Mercy Ann Whittington. They married 1865. Tom, I'm curious as to how you came about the page in the family Bible. BTW, William W. Whittington was half brother to my gggrandfather, John G. Whittington. Hope this helps.
