Hi! Saw the post on WHITTINGTON. Yes, the name can be spelled in many different ways. My line has come by way of the following states; Texas,Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, England, and France. Sure there maybe even other places I have not found as yet.
