"Whitt" 78, of Springfield, Ohio died December 7, 2012. He was born November 4, 1934 in Perry County, Ohio, the son of Cecil and Susie Alice (Rarick) Whittington. Mr. Whittington was a member of the Beacon Street Church of Christ in Christian Union and was retired from the United States Air Force and Community Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengal's, and loved to spend time with his wife, family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 27 years; Julia (Morgan) Whittington, one son; David (Rebecca) Whittington, Indiana, three step daughters; Cindy (Jim) McNamara, Chicago, Cathy Hallan, Cedarville and Connie (Steve) Ellinger, Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister; Leah (Whipp) Whipple, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters; Evelyn and Faye, brothers; Lester, Earl, Kenneth and Garland and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday in the Beacon Street Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Joe Dillard officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the services in the church. Interment will be held at 2:00PM Thursday in the Dayton National Cemetery with burial to follow.
