    1. Smart Whittington
    2. Hi Everyone, I thought I descend from Smart WHITTINGTON (born c1676), son of Col. Wm. Whittington (c1648-1720). But, have been informed that my lineage is incorrect...that Smart died very young. Can anyone shed any light on this? PLEASE tell me I not descended from a (YIKES) SMITH or JONES :( !!!!! THANKS. -Wayne

    3. Hi Tracey, I've got lots of Whittingtons in England. Unfortunately almost all are too old to be yours. I have a William WHITTINGTON who was the son of Thomas WHITTINGTON of Hamswell, b. in 1774, but that's about as close as I can get to you. Sorry, Linda Powers ---------- >From: Tracey Clasper <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] >Subject: WHITTINGTON >Date: Thu, Oct 26, 2000, 10:34 AM > >Posted on: Whittington Queries >Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Whittington/77 > >Surname: WHITTINGTON, MOISEY >------------------------- > >I am looking for WHITTINGTON's in England do you have any connections there? >I have William married to Alice with three children William, Mark and Louisa >(my g.grandmother) who married Albert Henry MOISEY in 1883. 3. Hi Eddie, I'm sorry. It's the WorldConnect project on Rootsweb, the one where they encourage people to post their gedcoms. Enter "lindapow" under username or whatever that box is. I notice you've got a Francis Marion and Charles E. Whittington. I don't have either of those names. There are, however, a fair number of Richards, 1 James, and lots of Johns. 1. Beware credit card charges -- "FREE" genealogy_library.com
    2. once again I'm experiencing unwanted credit card charges that I can't stop! I've had this with two internet entities: genealogy.com (currently) ancestry.com I was an annual subscriber to ancestry until I discovered that they were "automatically renewing" my subscription. To stop the ancestry billings, I had to write a formal letter to my credit card company .... ancestry didn't respond on their own. Now, genealogy.com is ignoring my email requests to not bill me. Oh well, genealogy.com is only billing my account a "paltry" $9.99 per month .... which began when I activated my 6 month "FREE" genealogy_library.com access I received with a purchase of a Deluxe version of Family Tree Maker (Family Origins is still far-and-away superior!!!) It will take some time to clean up the references to the (apparently) defunct genweb site .... and I find it difficult to get too motivated to restore a site that's been out of date for something like two years! .... my wife left me (well, she went to CT to be with her mother during a surgery), so one would think I'd have time to generate a new site (it takes me one to two weeks to do it) but I've got two teenagers with high school and church activities and the wife didn't leave me without instructions (and they don't include genealogy ;-) .... I will put something up shortly, probably on rootsweb Tom Cloud <[email protected]>
