VA was the youngest son of Starke D. Whittington & Elizabeth London. He, along with his siblings, was taken to what is now Kanawha Co. WV. His parents both died shortly thereafter and the children were taken back to Bedford Co. Reuben eventually went to MO with his older brother. This family's history is contained in the book, "Everyone's A Whittington."

    3. Hello Kathy, I too am a Whittington in Western Australia, my Grandfather arrived here in 1901. He was born in London, but was living in Brighton prior to his emigration, and at one time worked on the Isle of Wight. When you say your family may have been on the first fleet, do you mean in W.A. or N.S.W ?? You are correct in saying that Richard Whittington had no children, his name at that time was spelt "Whytyngdone".
