WRG: I have extracted genealogical material from the Civil War pension files of two men for whom I do not know their ancestry. They are: Sumner W. Whitney, born in Jay, Maine about 1843, the son of Phineas and Amanda Whitney. He married Eliza Metcalf, born in New Brunswick, Canada Amasa S. Whitney, born in 1836 in Green Co., NY, the son of Alfred and Phoebe (Hammond) Whitney. He was married to Angeline B. (Robinson) Lillie.
