Carol & all, Thank you very much for posting any further information you come across about my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather Ebenezer Whitney (Ezekiel, Ebenezer, Richard, John). He is the Whitney you mentioned who was abducted by the British during the Revolutionary War and whose wife remarried, thinking he had died. I believe he was a doctor, which is one of the reasons cited for his abduction. I think his son, another Ebenezer Whitney, was also a soldier in the same war.
