I further checked all the Whitney births in Essex county, and could find none that matched the data cited above. It is, of course, quite possible that she was born elsewhere and that her parents later moved to Manchester. I looked at the Index to the MA Vital Records for Whitneys, but didn't find any that looked promising except for the faint possibility of a daughter of Curnellus and Sarah, born in 1815 in Groton.
