Whitney Note that this means that the extract you cited above is incorrect as to the year of the date, and that the father of Sarah Ann WHITNEY is S. Carrier WHITNEY, a fuller version of his name than that in the published Gloucester VR. It also means that Sarah Ann was born about 1826, not 1820.
