Dear WRG, I live about 20 miles from Worcestor. I have lived in Mass. most of my life and I have what is called a Boston accent. When I say Worcestor it sounds like the card game Whist with an a on the end. Whista. My friend who grew up in New York says Woosta. In Mass. we do not pronounce the 'r' in our everyday conversations. I lived in Oklahoma for about a year and a half one time. The people in Oklahoma could not understand me when I talked. I could not understand them either. They have a long southern drawl when they talk. Maureen
