Yes, it was understood that you were copying your source verbatim and any misspellings were in the original. That's the general practice in genealogy. I can see how the term "typo" could be misinterpreted. it sounds so 20th-century, something done with a keyboard rather than a quill pen. Sorry for any confusion.
