Dear Rose Zella: Your e-mail address ([email protected]) is cited in Whitny16 as a source for the data about this Sarah J. Whitney, and in her own entry it shows that she was married to a kinsman. I think I have found the kinsman in Winchendon, Worcester, MA, but wondered what the source of the "kinsman" connection was. There is a marriage that takes place on 1 Mar 1846 in Winchendon between a Baxter Doddridge Whitney, b. 28 Jun 1817 in Winchendon, s.o. Amasa and Mary Goodridge Whitney, and a Sarah J. Whitney. His age is given as 28, which works with an 1817 birth date and hers would be ca 26, which again is reasonable. She is on her way to becoming a spinster (actually, by definition she's already there!) and he is a merchant who is only two years older. What I don't have is anything that would put her and her parents in Winchendon around that time, since she is not listed as "of somewhere" in the marriage record. The names and ages fit, but It would really ease my mind if I had something else to back up the supposition, strong as it may be. Let me know if you can help. I'm sending this to the entire WRG as well, in the chance that someone else has faced this question before and can help us with further information. Happy Hunting! Allan E. Green
