Leonard-7 Whitney was baptized 2 Jun 1793, Watertown, MA. His lineage is Ezekiel-6, Ezekiel-5, John-4, Benjamin-3, John-2, John-1. He is found in the 1840, 1850, 1860, and 1870 U.S. Censuses and the 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts State Census living in Watertown, MA. Ruth was living with him through 1865, but is gone in 1870. Leonard, Jr., Thomas F., Hiram, and Solomon W. are also found in Watertown in 1855. He apparently died before the 1880 census. Sure enough, his death record shows that Leonard Whitney, Sr., died 14 Oct 1878, Watertown, MA, aged 87 years 7 months 11 days, of old age, widower, papermaker, born Watertown, son of Ezekiel Whitney of Watertown, MA, and wife Ruth of Sharon, MA. Calculating backwards, that would put his birth at 3 Mar 1791. His wife Ruth R[ichardson] Whitney died 25 Mar 1867, Watertown, MA, aged 69 years 9 months 20 days, Watertown, MA, of disease of heart, housewife, born Charlestown, MA, parents not given. Calculating backwards, that would put her birth at 5 Jun 1797. Her parents were Jonathan and Margaret (Wellington) Larrabee. Regards, Robert Mr. Robert L.
