Recently, the Whitney DNA Project revealed that there was a fourth confirmed descendant of Henry Whitney. He is Steve Whitney b.1915 and I have been trying to connect his ancestry to Henry. So far, I know that he is the son of Isac b.1866 in Jackson County, Mississippi (wife Beatrice Bailey) and grandson of Henry b.1820 in Jackson County, Mississippi (wife Dolly Unknown). There is a strong possibility that Henry's father may be William Whitney of Jackson County, Mississippi. This entire family is listed in the 1880 census as black. Also listed in the household are Mariah Curtis, Paulene Donaldson and Bingman Brown as grandchildren of Henry. I would really appreciate any help that anyone can offer in making the connection of this line to Henry. We know that he is a direct descendant from his DNA so there must be a male link somewhere.
