I believe there is a problem with Hartford, Pennsylvania. Because I lived in Susquehanna County PA at one time, I am familiar with most of the towns in that county. There is a HARFORD, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, which would be near the Dubois Creek Dam--but in searching gazetteers, Google maps, Yahoo, hometownlocator.com, and numerous other sources I could find no Hartford in Pennsylvania. Oddly enough, Google has several hundred entries for Hartford PA, but nowhere is its County mentioned. The entries I did look up on Google were mostly dead-ends. A couple were family histories, but I believe "Hartford" as a place of birth in these is a mistake. Parents or predecessors were born in New Milford or Great Bend--both towns in Susquehanna County very close to "Harford." It does not seem unusual when seeing the name "Harford" to unconsciously think a "t" is missing. Perhaps if you refer back to the source and the context of the material you have, you might be able to pick up some other clues that would help to clarify this puzzler. Let me know if I can be of any further help with it.
