Family hearsay says that the ancestors came from Conneticuit. It has been a dilemna for many family members for years. He and wife, Nellie Freeman died in a house fire ---Aug 9, 1861. Census records show variable dates of birth--1785/1800. Large family incl 13 children------ Children born 1822-1845. Most children farmed out and living in other families in the area in later census records.
