Thanks Shawn. A cemetery record in our archives indicates that Ezra died in Ontario County and that his wife was name Temperance. Another candidate for a while was Ezra, son of James Whitney and Eunice Johnson, of Newfield, NY. But another old cemetery record showed that Ezra and his wife and several children buried in Newfield. That's also in our archives. I have an old family record that says the father of my Ezra was also named Ezra and that his wife was Juliette Stewart. I have run into this record among several living descendants. However, it also contains a lengthy and romantic fairy tale about how and "Lady Julia Pelton", born in England, fell in love with her father's groom, 'Lord Ezra Whitney" and they both absconded to America and were married in 1840. "Lady Juliet Stewart is listed as a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce in this tale. The truth is that the wife of Ezra Whitney 'Lady' Julia Pelton', was born in Bath, NH, the daughter of first cousins John Pelton and Martha Pelton.
