    3. Carolyn...I have reference books for Maine and have found Curits. I need to know more about the dates involving your Samuel Whitney and Lydia Curit to help you. Have a John Curit [1777-1873] m. Jane Hamilton in 1802 and settled on Chebeague Island[Casco Bay-town of Cumberland].They had seven or more children including a Lydia. Jan

She m. 24 Dec 1801, Lisbon, ME, Samuel Lumber WHITNEY, and d. 7 Dec 1848, Lisbon, ME. The timing is right for her to have been a sister of the above John CURIT, and she named a son John.
