Hi Helen! What a warm day for us here in northern Vermont! Sitting by my fan looking up this information for you! I have Jacob Whitney born October 14, 1804 in Lisbon, Maine. His parents were Samuel and Lydia (Curit, Curtis, Curate) Whitney. Jacob's first marriage was to Mary Gould on July 18, 1830. Mary died in 1838 in Lisbon Falls. They had two children, Increase Gould Whitney, born Nov. 25, 1831 and Mary Jane Whitney born March 29, 1834. Jacob's second marriage was to Christiana Jordan on September 6, 1838. They had three children, Martha McClellan Whitney born Sept. 20, 1839, Washington Dain Whitney born December 29, 1842 and Christiana Ann Whitney born March 20, 1848. I have no information on how or where Jacob and Christiana (Jordan) Whitney died. I have not found them buried in Lisbon or Lisbon Falls. Do you have any other information on where John and Polly Curie lived? I am assuming Curie is the maiden name, and that he was John Whitney.
